We still have summer weather, but class is now in session. Friday was the first day back to school for students in Onslow County. About 23,000 students and more than 1,600 teachers in 35 Onslow County Schools returned to their classrooms. School buses made the routes, marking the end to summer, but the vacation is not yet forgotten. White Oak high school senior, Emily Graniero, says she's trying her best to make the transition. Graniero says, "I'm trying to think about school. It's hard because we're starting on a Friday, so I'm thinking about summer and just the commotion that's starting school, and all the things I have to get done this year is kind of all weighing down on me, like, today." Lenoir, Craven and Carteret counties also began Friday. Pitt and Beaufort counties begin Monday.
