Bertie Co. Escapee Caught In Virginia
The man escaped about a day after getting convicted of assaulting the local police chief.

His four months on the run are over. A man who escaped from the Bertie County t is back behind bars.
Danyashi Wood escaped from the Bertie County Jail in July. The Roanoke-Chowan News Herald reported Friday that Wood has been re-arrested in Richmond, Virginia.
Wood escaped about a day after getting convicted of assaulting a government official, the police chief of Aulander. Wood is considered a habitual felon for his lengthy rap sheet and now will face even more charges.
