Right now authorities in Clinton are looking for a mother and her son after they mysteriously disappeared.
The Sampson County Sheriff’s Office received a missing persons report from a concerned family member who said they haven'’t seen 38 year old Mary Esther Avellaneda and her 13 year old son Jose Andrews Avellaneda since Sunday.
Apparently the two left in a car with Mary’s estranged husband Jose Cruz Avellaneda. 20 minutes later family members say Mr. Avellaneda returned to the residence without the other two. Since then, Mr. Avellaneda has left the area and refused to tell family members the location of his wife and son.
Family members claim the Avellanedas have been staying in separate houses because of a history of domestic abuse.
Mr. Avellaneda was last seen operating a 1995, four-door, white, Chevrolet Lumina, bearing North Carolina Registration Plate Number XZX-8054.
If you have any information about the Avellaneda’s whereabouts contact the Sheriff’s Department at (910) 592-4141.
