Terrifying moments for a group of first graders at a Lenoir County school, a tree came crashing into the roof of the gymnasium. (See photo gallery below)

It happened around 10:00 a.m. at Moss Hill Elementary School on Highway 55 West.

The school system says the tree created a 10-foot hole in the gymnasium roof. Six ceiling panels fell, and three support beams are broken.

Fortunately, no one was injured even though a first grade class was there when the tree fell. They were on the other side of the gym at the time.

The school system says they are accessing damage and making arrangements to have the roof repaired.

Glad no one was hurt. Why would god make a tree fall on the school in the first place?
