Sorry to post so late but our power was out all around. It went out around 6:30 and came back on around 8 in the am. We all so had tress down do to the high winds. I agree that they should had told us about the high winds instead of thunderstorms. It was all good because we made it a family night.

I can understand the wind factor. I came home about 830 from church and a tree had fallen in my yard from the winds. I only have power in part of my house at the moment due to how the tree fell and it will take a few weeks to get the tree out of the yard. Not sure of any other damage except there is a board or two off my house and a board or two off my shop where electrical wires run from one to the other.

OOPS! That last post should have read "without snow or ice."

Askewville was without power for most of the night. It went out around six, come back on for a little while around midnight. Finally came back on for good (I hope) around 6:30 am. Bethel Assembly Christian Academy is closed today. I don't remember this type of wind before in January with snow or ice.

I found it really odd that we had Severe T-Storm Warnings, and there wasn't any thunder or lightning. I think more appropriate warnings would have been High Wind Warnings maybe? I know a Thunderstorm can be defined as having winds greater than 57 MPH, but this is winter!
