Lots of people swear that a steaming cup of tea or other hot drink helps ease the sniffles, aches and pains of the flu or common cold.
Now, researchers have put the claim to scientific test.
Volunteers in the small British study reported immediate relief from their runny noses, sneezing, sore throat and chills when given a hot fruit drink. Researchers admit the relief from hot drinks could be partly psychological, just the taste, smell and temperature can be just the medicine we need!
