A simple knock on the back door turns in a horrifying experience for a Pitt County Man.

David Johnson says he was at home alone with his two dogs after eight Monday night, when two men came to his back door.

He says, thinking it was someone he knew, he opened the door without looking. Instead Johnson ended up staring down the barrel of a gun.

Johnson said, "I realized I could have been shot and the whole time it was happening it didn't for one minute or three or four, it didn't register with me. What registered to me was how angry I was and what I wanted to do but what go me back calm, was when he placed the gun right on my temple and told me to stay still."

Johnson's terrifying brush with two armed gunmen, is similar to another man's robbery. Bennie Rountree, an civil rights activist in Greenville, says two men made him hit the ground as he was robbed this past weekend.

Well the only way to stop this stuff if to look out for your fellow man. Get to know your neighbors and call the police when you see suspicious individuals or cars driving thru your area. Also make better choices. If you dont have them then install peep holes in your doors. Look before you open your doors. Consider getting an alarm system and purchasing a firearm. Only when people make better choices and look out for each other will the criminals get the message that the community is not going to stand for what they are doing.

To "Me" at 7:43pm on 1/6/09... You hate Greenville, huh? How about you go on ahead and move to St. Louis, Detroit, Flint, MI, Compton, CA, or Camden, NJ. If you like the crime rate here, you will love it at these places (currently the top 5 most dangerous cities in the US). Some where crime rate is up 20%. And yes J, we agree- these offenders are sorry excuses for citizens.

This is ridiculous. These 2 "individuals" are a sorry excuse for PEOPLE. Especially because you have to point a gun at someone to rob them for what THEY WORKED for. People who rob other people are a poor excuse for a human because they are too lazy to work for ANYTHING they have to take it from someone else.

Was anything taken? Did he see their vehicle? Where in Pitt County did this take place? It just seems the article stopped midway of their report.

I hate Greenville!!!! I hate the evil in this world. People are sick. I wish that those criminals could stare down the barrel of my gun and see just how it feels. Something is wrong with our justice system.
