Two hundred Camp Lejeune Marines are on their way to Iraq today.

The headquarters of the 8th Marine Regiment began their 12-month long deployment. Marines say it's part of a scheduled rotation in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Once in Iraq these Marines will be headquartered at Al Asad Air Base in Al Anbar province.

Stay safe and get your butts home soon! We will be waiting. Semper Fi. Mary, my thoughts are with you and yours as you go through this deployment, mine leaves soon. May they all stay safe and come home to us. Hugs to you and I also agree with what you said about thanking those wives who stay true to their Marines while they are gone. You give truth to the words Semper Fi!

I am praying for all the marines that left in including mine. We all appreciate those of you who serve. And i want to thank those wives who stand by their marines and support them. You hold down the home front while they are away. I love you Honey!!!!! Again thank the Marines that are fighting for us.

Michelle: Agreed. The need all the support they can get. I had the pen to the paper heading that way but decided to think about it for a little while longer. I respect these people greatly and thank you for all you do in an attempt to keep our country the way it was and is.
