A Soaking On The Way
A large area of rain will move across eastern North Carolina on Tuesday.

A developing area of low pressure and cold front is helping to bring beneficial moisture to eastern North Carolina. The rain will begin overnight and taper off on Tuesday. By early Wednesday a strong cold front will bring additional rainfall to the area. By Wednesday night many locations could see 1 to 2 inches of rainfall with the highest amounts near the Virginia border and well inland. Sunshine should return to the state on Thursday along with colder temperatures.
