The plans for 55 single family homes and two, 13 story high rises received county approval last month. Among the concerns voiced by residents were about the height of the two proposed condominium buildings being inconsistent with the existing homes near the site. Beaufort County currently has no zoning to govern building height. Additional concerns were voiced about the congestion and safety of the increased number of residents during hurricane evacuations. Director of Beaufort County Emergency Management, George Sullivan, says residents shouldn't worry. They will implement the current plan in place. Once finished, the proposed residences would provide living space for more than 350 families
