Tougher Drunk Driving Law

A bill signed into law by Governor Mike Easley Monday could result in more convictions and stiffer penalties for drunk drivers. A breath test showing a blood alcohol concentration of point-zero-eight or greater is now enough to prove that a motorist was incapable of driving. If prosecutors dismiss a case, they will have to detail in writing their reason.
