Three people were rescued New Years Eve from a sinking fishing trawler near Oregon Inlet.
The mayday call went out just after 6:00 p.m. from the crew of the "Boss Lady".
When rescue crews arrived the three crew members were all in the pilothouse, the only part of the 80-foot fishing vessel that was still above water.
The Coast Guard says boats were unable to get to the crew members, so a helicopter from Elizabeth City was brought in to hoist all three to safety.
