Dare County leaders are considering a plan to create a corridor running next to State Highway 12. The plan was outlined last week by the county appointed Outer Banks Scenic Byways committee. It would connect the villages on the sound side of the highway, starting in Rodanthe and looping through Buxton and Hatteras on its way South. The proposed path would be separate from the motor road. If the plan is approved, the committee will apply for grants to pay for it.
