Wednesday was the second day of testimony in Raleigh in the case against former C.I.A. contractor David Passaro. A retired Army Special Forces soldier testified and indicated that Passaro became enraged when an Afghan detainee wasn't able to answer questions about rocket attacks on an Afghan base. Prosecutors accuse Passaro of beating detainee Abdul Wali during two days of questioning. Passaro is the first American civilian charged with mistreating a detainee during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
