What a way to enjoy the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse!
The National Park Service is giving full moon tours Wednesday night of the beacon in Buxton.
As there are no lights in the lightouse, climbers will navigate the 257-step staircase using handheld flashlights. In the lantern room, visitors will be able to view the light up close and in motion, as the full moon hangs over the ocean.
Tickets for Wednesday's tours sold out in 15 minutes, but take heart. Another full moon tour is planned for September 7. You can find out information about tickets, click here.
And don't forget to look right here at witntv.com on the right side for WITN's two Hatteras webcams!
