A tragic discovery in Hertford County has authorities on the hunt for a killer. Just before 8 p.m. Friday, a Hertford County resident found 74-year-old Dorothy Hobbs and 71-year-old Nellie Bradley stabbed to death and left on a dirt road near Murfreesboro. The two sisters were from Emporia, Virginia. The Hertford County sheriff would not say much about the case except that the sisters frequently traveled to North Carolina and that all leads are being followed. Lawmen from several sheriff's departments as well as state and federal investigators are working on the case.
