Police say they have solved a rash of robberies that have plagued businesses in Craven County over the past several months.

Two people, Johnny Dickerson and Nicole Thomas, have been linked to nine robberies in New Bern, three in Craven County and three in Havelock.

Police describe Dickerson as a career criminal who was released from prison in August. He's in the Craven County jail under a $1 million bond.

Detectives say the agencies involved combined forces to investigate the robberies at convenience stores, hotels and restaurants during the past two months. A tip from a citizen led police to a possible vehicle used in some of the robberies.

Dickerson was charged with three felony counts of armed robbery, 10 felony counts of common law robbery, two felony counts of attempted robbery, three felony counts of conspiracy to commit an armed robbery, 10 felony counts of conspiracy to commit common law robbery and two felony counts of conspiracy to commit attempted robbery. He made a first appearance in court this morning.

Thomas was charged with three felony counts of conspiracy to commit an armed robbery and 12 felony counts of conspiracy to commit common law robbery.
