High school football players are doing their best to beat the heat. Football practice started this week. Athletes with the Pam Pack football team from Washington High School in Beaufort County are hitting the gridiron all this week and fighting through the intense summer heat. Varsity coach Freddie Sawyer says water bottles are on hand during each drill and players are encouraged to take water breaks whenever they need to. One player says the heat actually helps them with conditioning. Next week the Pam Pack will suit up in full pads. Thankfully, the weather is expected to cool down by then.
