Obama Graffiti Apology Save Email Print

One of four North Carolina State University students who admitted painting racially-charged graffiti has apologized.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that Wednesday's apology came before the student senate voted for a resolution condemning the graffiti. It was painted in the school's Free Expression Tunnel a day after the election.

The student has not been publicly identified. But the newspaper reported he said he's sorry for the anger and fear at the school and for putting it in a bad light.

The three other students expressed remorse in a written statement released by a school spokesman Wednesday.

Chancellor James Oblinger said the student who accepted primary
responsibility will participate in diversity training and will be assigned community service.

To Anonymous, if it werent for the 'sniveling veterans ' as you refer to them, the Communists would have cut your tongue out long ago.But hey, since you will soon have a Socialist president, it still may happen.Better quit wagging it so much and keep it in your mouth.

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 23, 2008 at 01:08 AM
The "sniveling veterans" did not personally fight for me. It wasn't my war. My First Amendment rights are obtained by court battles and not being afraid to, dare we say, differ from the norm. Dissent is unpatriotic in this country anymore, and I am one proud dissenter. And Sam, it is flag worshipping zealots like you whom I love to take on the most. If you don't like my opinions or anyone else's who differs from yours, simply don't read them.

Well the wolfpacks are on blast. The comment that the student made was lets shoot this N-word in his head. And truly that is so sad.The country has voted.Get over it.If you don't want president-elect Obama to be your president move out of this country and be under someone else leadership.Good-grief what is the problem.

Alpo female, there is a huge difference between kicking someone in the chin with a steel toed boot and writing something on a wall in a free expression tunnel. The is no analogy in your statement at all, so it was pointless. You and the blog refluter are all for free speech as long as everybody has a big love-in and agrees with your point of view.

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 22, 2008 at 10:25 AM
come on now, I meant every word. I have said to veterans' faces and you should see the reaction. I am exercising my First Amendment right, and I don't care how offended someone might get.

Posted by: To Sam on Nov 22, 2008 at 10:06 AM
That statement sounded like a threat to me. Oh well, I guess the terrorists aren't protected by the first ammendment since they're terrorists. To me this is the beginning of the end of Free Speech. As long as you don't say anything against the "chosen one" you're okay. Remember anonymous, those "sniveling veterans" fought for you and others to say what you say. If the flag of this country offends you then leave the country! I appreciate my freedom. Thank you all you veterans and active military that have fought and fight for us and people in other countries to have these rights. I guess those of us that live in a country with so many freedoms cannot understand how it is to live in a country where you don't have any freedom.

Alpo female.. they probably would come forward if the NAACP and all the liberal idiots worshipping the chosen one weren't clammering for their heads on a platter!

Obama Snake Oil Co... My comment was a general statement and not necessarily toward these 4 childish boys. Calm down ...take a Valium... and stop trying to pick a fight. WOW.. how many of you men wear super plus pearls ~wink~ ...the women know what I'm talking about!

Posted by: ??? Location: NC on Nov 21, 2008 at 07:18 PM
They shouldnt have apologized for anything. Why should you apologize for excercising your 1st amendment rights. All this does is feed the Naacp troublemakers so the next time they will only holler louder.

i was in complete disbelief at the disrespectful nature of a post that referred to veterans as 'sniveling' and 'feeling sorry for themselves'.. 'for not getting a parade..'. this to me is just as offensive as anything else i could happen to read and (i bet that person would not tell a veteran that to their face, hence 'anonymous'), showing that its not against the law to be rude and disrespectful,--but in reference to the article, it IS against the law to make threats on another persons life which is apparently what the students did--i dont think we ever got to see what it is they wrote.

Well said, Alpha Female. As for the Muslim leader who called Obama a house-slave, so what. We have more important things to be worried about than external name-calling. The reason why internal name-calling is more harmful is that at the moment which the enemy sees the countrymen infighting, that is the same moment at which their forces will attack. It's common sense. Any country is at its weakest point when its inhabitants are divided.

Posted by: Obama Snake Oil Co Location: Washington on Nov 21, 2008 at 04:35 PM
Alpha, think they did. They told the school and came forward and apoligized for what they did. As usual, it isn't enough. The did a childish thing but the did confess, no cowards here.

Posted by: ~ALPHA female~ Location: O84P on Nov 21, 2008 at 03:36 PM
Like I've stated before....everyone wants their first amendment right to freedom of speech as long as there are NO rules. When you become an adult, you learn that nothing in life is free and everything has rules. With growing up comes responsibilities and maturity. No more silly kid antics, and tantrums when you don't like how the other kid is playing. I dislike some of my co-workers. I want to put a steel toe boot and kick some of them in the chin, but am I ready to pay for those consequences after that attack? NO....So I don't do it. My point is....if you write it, say it, or do it, just be man enough to pay the consequences for those actions. Who respects a coward?

Posted by: kinston Location: nc on Nov 21, 2008 at 02:59 PM
Free Expression Tunnel? Why call it that if you are not FREE to express. I'm sure it didn't have rules posted......We should only have such petty things to worry about that make the news. The school should have known better than to even have such a thing. Here's the candy, kids, but don't touch it!....

Some folks just don't get the point of the blog. We have an "all volunteer" military. No one is forcing anyone to go into the service. And, what coolaide did you drink to think we fight in Iraq over oil? Boy, now thats been real profitable. We "liberated"Iraq with "all volunteer" militaries. Is there some "fact" that you can give to sway us from the "facts"? No, just more liberal sheep. Go get some more coolaide, you will feel much better. God love the USA.

That makes a lot of sense, Obama Snake Oil Co. Instead of teenagers spreading graffiti, they can be brainwashed with pro-American propoganda, have the flag rammed down their throats, and become trained killers for the gigantic oil corporations. This country tried it once. It was called the draft, and all we got was a generation of sniveling veterans feeling sorry for themselves because they did not get a parade when they came back to this country.

The second in command of Alcaida called our next President "a white man's slave". I was as offended by that statement as I have been statements against President Bush. More attention is given to harmless college students than is given to a terrorist leader slandering our President Elect. Go censor him you foolish liberals.

Obama Snake Oil Co Thank You great comment. I would also like to add. Being a VFW myself. I have seen many service people who did not believe in the love of God. When the guns and the killing starts, and your friends in arms who you know very well are now dead. You have held a GI who you know who has been shot, and his blood is all over you. It changes you. We started out with about 5 GI's at Chaplin Service at the end of my tour of duty there were over a 100 or more at Chaplin Service.

Posted by: Obama Snake Oil Co Location: Washington on Nov 21, 2008 at 08:53 AM
This is the reason why I have always thought all teenagers should go into the service. When the man in the plane, foxhole, tank or troop transport is from a different race, religion or even a woman, you develop a different respect for them when the bullets fly. They are no longer a race or sex, they are now your brother or sister. When they leave the service, this doesn't go away, it sets in for life. I am not say all prejudice goes away, but many walls come down. These kids were being young imature kids..that came from households that probable never had to fight alongside a fellow soldier. That never taught their kids that you don't have to hate. I think this is good story as it shows us that even though we have come a long way we still have some distance. Yall be nice.

If you people think this behavior is acceptable then I wonder what you are teaching your children. The fact that the comments were directed toward or next president makes it ten times worse. This in not acceptable behavior. It is never okay to make "racially-charged" statements IF YOU'RE WHITE. Did you people miss the post where a student said that he feared for his safety? Is that the environment you want your kids in? I may be wrong but I thought we were fighting a war against terrorism. So don't forget that freedom of speech means only if it's ok with the government. There were no threats made just the feelings of 4 people. So keep your thoughts to yourselves...LOLOLOLOL

Instead of these kids making racial slurs about our next President, maybe they should take his lead and become academic achievers. Just a thought...

Apology Needed Now ! Nov. 19 al - Qeade's Zawahiri criticised Mr Obama - whose father is Muslim - for betraying the Islamic world. "You were born to a Muslim father, but you chose to stand in the ranks of the enemies of the Muslims, and pray the prayer of the Jews, although you claim to be Christian, in order to climb the rungs of leadership in America," he said. Mr Obama was not an "honourable black American" like Malcolm X, he said, but an "abeed al-beit" - a word that translates as house slave. Now this needs an Apology.

Posted by: Dwayne Location: Greenville on Nov 20, 2008 at 11:36 AM
No one indicated that your Obama had been threatened. Otherwise, the students would be under the jail. You read the First Amendment. I'm utilizing it.

Posted by: Rob Location: NC on Nov 20, 2008 at 11:30 AM
I was hoping to hear good ol' Rev Al go on one of his post-Imus fiasco "Needses to be fired" tirades. Oh, well. There will plenty more chances coming.

Posted by: Tad Location: Jamesville on Nov 20, 2008 at 09:33 AM
In other words the kid has to go to re-education camp. Anonymous, did you read the same article that the rest of us did. The article mentioned no threats. This is simply a case of the politically correct attempting to force everyone to think the way they want them to, because of coarse they know best. Air raiding innocent villages? It never happened and you cannot prove that it did. You are a propagandist or you have lost your mind. That statement by the "one" has been proven to be false and although he would never admit that he was wrong about anything, he hasn't argued the point and is just hoping it doesn't come up again. What you really don't like is this, people have a right not to like you for whatever reason they want as long as they don't try to harm you. They also have a right to express their feelings even if it offends you. You are the one who does not understand the first amendment. You are oh so tolerant of other veiws, so long as they don't contradict yours!

Posted by: Obama Snake Oil Co Location: Washington on Nov 20, 2008 at 09:17 AM
What Obama said about our troops is not true. Obviously, you have been to the liberal web sites that publish lies or don't explain the details. That is exactly what Al Queida wants, you must work for them..When you use locals you place in harms way, knowing that the US may attack there is inocent behavior? Look into the facts. We do understand what the first amendment means "as it is written" what interpretation are you using?

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 20, 2008 at 08:41 AM
You FOLKS seem to not understand what the first amendment is about. The first amendment does not protect people who make threats against someone! What Obama said about our troops was unfortunately true so why would there be a need for an apology? Look up exactly what the 1st amendment is Dwayne. Or better yet, let's get someone to make a threat against you and see how much they should be protected by the 1st amendment.

Posted by: Dwayne Location: Greenville on Nov 20, 2008 at 08:22 AM
Folks, this is just the beginning of a dumbing down of our 1st amendment rights. Our President Elect has never apologized for stating that our troops were air raiding innocent villages. This slanderous and defamative language was taped. Now a student has to apologize because of a Chancelor who would rather be politically correct? Again, a double standard is constantly displayed between the elite arrogant and the common man/woman.
