Racing fans will get a taste of what real horsepower sounds and feels like this weekend when the biggest, fastest race boats in the world descend on Washington in Beaufort County. While the Fountain Powerboat races may be just a few days away, craftsmen are working fast and furious at the Fountain Powerboat factory in Washington, re-tooling and re-surfacing boats set to race this weekend, including one winner from last year. Even though the race day is close, workers are confident they'll get the job done by this weekend. The first race begins at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and can be seen along the shore of Whichard's Beach. Officials expect 30,000 people in town for the races.
