It's hasn't been confirmed if a tornado hit Martin County, but by the look of the damage there, officials believe something touched down near Robersonville.

Roberson Chapel Church was heavily damaged during the early morning storm. Members of the congregation came out to survey what was left after the winds blown off part of the roof and caused a wall to collapse.

The congregation could not use the building for services today, but were able to hold a service at a local business which opened its doors to them, during their time of need.

"And we're very appreciative to Mr. Elbert Powell and his employees and his staff to open their doors to us. To allow us to have service here at Powell's Driving School here in Robersonville. We're very grateful for that."

Jerry McCrary says the congregation hope to rebuild their sanctuary.
