Sentinel chickens in Beaufort, Craven and Carteret Counties have tested positive for the West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis. The Beaufort County Health Department is spraying for mosquitoes in the area where one of their chickens became infected with the West Nile Virus. The Beaufort County Health Department says seniors and young children are at the greatest risk of contracting mosquito-borne viruses.
