Assault Turns Deadly In Pamlico County

A Pamlico County man is behind bars, charged with an open count of murder.
Lawmen say they were called to a home on Gibbtown Road in Merritt just after 11:00 p.m. Saturday. There they found 27-year-old Jacqueline Suzanne Harvey dead from an apparent head injury.
Deputies say 37-year-old Mark Grady confessed to assaulting Harvey early that morning and causing her injuries. Grady is now charged with murder.

I am absolutely disgusted by the recent news surrounding my cousins death. Mark is an evil person with no sense of what true love is. He let my cousin bleed to death and watched her. He should get the death penalty for his cruelty, ignorance, and absolute lack of any decency a person could have. He knew she was dying, he knew she needed help, and let her lie in a bed and die while he watched.

I grew up on gibbtown road and never in my life did i think something like this would happen up there. I am sick and so sadden that the world has come to this.there are no words i can say to jackie's family that could take their pain away. I wish they would let her family have just 5 minutes alone with that monster...let him see how it feels...let him know what its like to be beaten to death. I hope he is haunted everyday of his life of what he did to her and those innocent children and then burns in hell forever
