The school board is suing the county commissioners over one-million dollars in funding they say the commissioners are withholding due to personal vendettas. Court recessed around three Friday afternoon, with opening arguments expected to begin Monday morning. After two mediation sessions earlier this month, one that lasted four hours, the Beaufort County school board and commissioners are still at odds over school funding. The school board initially passed a resolution the end of June to take legal action if commissioners didn't come through with the money. The commissioners say the school system is adequately funded and calls in to question how the school board manages its money.
