To "Obama Snake Oil" you are PATHETIC!! just look at how bad the economy is right now. Black or White we need a change, just give Obama a chance, please. We're in this together. Let's think positive, don't make this a black and white thing. To all of the positive ones, as long as you are fussing back and forth with the negative ones, its going to continue. So let it go. Thank you

Some of you think the last 8 years were bad, well, wrong, the last 6 years were bad. The last 2 years have been brought to you by Pelosi and Reid, the next 4 years will be brought to you by Pelosi, Reid and now Obama. Change, you are right, higher taxes for all to cover heathcare, higher taxes to cover mortgages, taxing small business? Well there will be change, the stuff you dig out of you pocket to see if you can afford a hotdog. Change was Jimmy Carters platform too. If he goes after big oil, boy are you going to like that change, instead of $2.29 a gallon, will you be able to afford $7.99 a gallon. Well, welcome to change. Both houses and the pres will have a spending spree at your dime, get used to it, this is what you said you wanted, you bought the rhetoric and were suckered in to believe it. Just, don't complain about it when it starts happening. I hope you can keep your job, one local company has already layed off 70 people in anticipation of people not buying boats. Well?

i voted for obama but i am saying this to all---even if he flops (which he wont) it wont be any worse than the last horrible 8 years we have already had..

I am still in shock about obama winning! I know and work with doctors and professional people and the tax on people he (obama) wants to try and make them pay..... They are saying that they are going to close their offices and work only 2 days a weeek! Lay off the extra worker's and stay home. They will do without if they have to give their money away! Try to get a doctor's appointment and oh yeah... prices will go sky high, and people will lose their jobs! Thanks alot obama supporters our country is going to h--- and the safety of our country is gone! God help us! S that work for them. They are NOT going to give there hard earned money away !

Some of you need to wake up. You've been sleeping like Rip Van Winkle. This is a new age! It's spoken of in the Bible! Let's welcome in the new government!!! Out with the corruption, in with the justice!!!

Actually the stock market dropped 300 points today because the investors have no hope in Obama either. That is the how the stock market works. Get over it! Also, Bush did not get fired. To Melissa- A president can only be in office for eight years. This is the end of his 8th year. Please educate yourself!

You know some people blogging here are still singing the ole blame Bush game. Well, you may find out he wasn't so bad after all, just remember these words. You ignored the facts and chose either Obama for being black or liberal. Well, the stock falls only because people are now concerned about their money. When you have a president that says he will tax the rich, just like Jimmy Carter, the stock will drop, interrest rates will rise and jobs will be lost. It will really depend on this is what I am really going to do versas what really happens. Of course you Obama Supporters were expecting this as many of us warned you. We lived the Jimmy Carter years. Next is energy, I hope you like lines and high gas prices, Obama doesn't want to drill, neither does Pelosi or Reid. Great idea for you though, no one ever thought of the hot dog cart to serve people waiting in the lines, oops, that is small buisness, isn't it.

Hey the stock market has been dropping for the past few weeks, I wonder why? Your boy Bush has been in office for eight years with the stock market dropping and Wall Street execs stealing. So how is that situation better than this? It is not just african-americans that are happy and want a change, it is all nationalities that want a change! Did't you see the rainbow of colors at Obama's acceptance speech? How can you be so negative?

Posted by: Melissa on Nov 5, 2008 at 01:59 PM
Bush, you're fired!

Posted by: Brenda Location: Newport on Nov 5, 2008 at 01:16 PM
God is awesome! God is in control! That is a good thing, bc if Obama is left to control on his own with his liberal 'yes' men and women then this USA has NEVER been in more trouble than it's about to be in. He could be purple and it would not matter - it's his cunning, sly demeanor that has swallowed up America. He's a charmer.

To Jay...I am with you all the way. I won't support him either. The problem with this election is that it was not about the best man for the job, it turned into "let's elect the first black president". I have no problem electing a black president as long as he is the best person for the job. I guarantee the majority of the people that voted for Obama couldn't tell you any hard evidence about the man or his policies. All they cared about was electing a black president. This election is a true travesty. I have lost faith in the judgement of the American people.

Now, the ball is in your court. This will be a measure of how not only Obama runs the country, but how the houses pass legislation. Obama did swing center and he knows he will have support there. The houses are what surprise me most. That is where we have the worst approval record in history yet they were put in. Lavon, don't gloat, show some respect you your brothers and sisters. This victory is proof that the racial accusations were wrong for white Americans. Now its up to him to prove his ability to all no mater who would have won. You and I have battled together but there are times when humble can be more value to others. Its about respecting opinion even if it is contrary. Yall have a nice day.

"Now we will not be oppressed anymore as a race." Give me a break. You're showing your race right now. No one has been oppressed in years. That kind of statement is exactly why more people didn't vote for Obama.

As a staunch republican, I am very upset that McCain lost. HOWEVER, we now have a new president. We should ALL get behind him and support him. We can wave our flags and be as patriotic as we were before. We should not badmouth him in any way. He is the president of the greatest nation on earth and we should give him his due respect. Anything less, is treason.

None of you are God and none of us know when the end is coming, we can say that the end of days are close based on the teaching or interpretation we take from the bible or those who are annoited to teach us about the bible. God does not have a select party (D or R), so just because you feel a conservative is more Christian like than a Liberal Demorcat, remember that the Pharisees of Christ's day were also considered conservative and Christ himself was considered a lilberal. WELL, THAT SHOULD REALLY MAKE YOU THINK!!!!! If not I will remember to say an extra prayer for you tonight and every night I lay my head down as a Christian that loves all not based on race or polictical party(conservative or liberal). GOD BLESS the USA!!!!!!

You got it, Joe. Jesus came to replace the ways & laws of the Old Testament. The Bible is more about love & helping others than punishment & condemnation. So says my NIV Bible. The whole point of the Sabbath was to take a day out of the week to rest and worship. Doesn't say anything about playing sports. Open your minds and STUDY the Bible and Christianity.

If Obama wins, maybe some of us republicans can sit on our front porch and get a check. There may be a catch though, you might need to have a few more kids to be able to buy your beer & cigarettes.

A socialist society? How about a Christian society that follows the lead of Jesus, ministering to the poor, the downtrodden, kicking the money changers out of the temple? We can begin working on the 11 trillion dollar deficit George Bush has left us. We didn't have these economic problems when Clinton was president & we will come back. It will take more than 8 years to turn America around economically. Bush created many of the problems by invading Iraq without being prepared & without having enough military intelligence to do it right. We should have been out in two years, not continuing to spend billions/month. God BLESS America for waking up and voting for two intelligent, competent leaders. Now we can restore our reputation as an honorable nation. I respect Sen. McCain who has served his country well, but he used BAD judgment in selecting a VP and continued to lie during the campaign after being given the truth, the facts. I'll pray for all the smallminded people writing here tonigt

Barbara, there is some credence in what you're saying...just a little. But neither you nor me, or anybody is in a position to judge another on the basis of being "evil." That is the duty of the LORD, and the last time I checked MY bible, the good ole' King James version, God doesn't need ANY help in the judgement department, and NO ONE walking this green earth is qualified to "assume" the role, unless of course you think you can do a better job than the LORD. It is true that the removal of prayer from schools has had a profound and devastating impact on the moral capacity of our youth (in my opinion), however, playing sports on Sunday does not weigh critically into the equation. As a matter of fact the actual Sabbath, as practiced in the bible occurs beginning sundown Friday through sundown Saturday.By that argument, every red-blooded American who works, watches TV, fishes, hunts, etc. on Sunday is a sinner. We should focus more on practicing the Bible's principle of love, and Luke 6:42.

Lavon, you are right. God has sent us Obama, to punish this national for the sinful place it has become. I'm scared for what is in store for us now.

Posted by: dissapointed Location: eastern nc on Nov 4, 2008 at 10:42 PM
I am watching the results come in and am terrified to wake up tommorrow, knowing what is to come. EVERYONE has a right to their opinion and a right to vote, but you have a responsibility to educate yourself. Barack Obama is going to be the next president, and those who voted for him are going to get EXACTLY what they deserve, a socialist society and a whole lot of trouble. Unfortunantly for the rest of us we will suffer too. If your think the last eight years were tough, and the economic downturn we are in now is bad, the next four years are going to be much, much worse.

Posted by: XnDemocrat Location: Raleigh on Nov 4, 2008 at 10:40 PM
To Barbara, Children can't play organized sports on Sunday unless parents allow them to do so. (PS some church services are on Saturday night or very early Sunday morning. Not everyone goes at 11 a.m.)

Posted by: Upset in Greenville Location: Greenville on Nov 4, 2008 at 10:40 PM
We are in for hard times for the next year no matter who wins tonight. Our Democraticaly majority Congress has been for the past two years driving the country in the direction that it is in now. We all hear Bush's economic plan has put us here and McCain has help along the way. Last I checked it takes a majority vote Hint Hint A good portion Dem. voting to accept any LEGISLATION ( that is the guys in the senat and house) to pass new policies and laws. The Pres. ( Executive) doesn't make these he accepts or veto's. So now her we are present day getting ready to celebrate our new elect hopeful Obama ( who cares if what color he is ) with his now soon to be filibuster proof senate to run freely to give to the lazy what they can't do for themselves. The incintive to work hard will soon be gone and the lazy will sit and complain there isn't any more free handouts. The new tax increases on the wealthy ( Businesses will now be passed on in our consumption of goods. They will get us to pay thxs

I'm reading these comments regarding Obama, and I have to say beneath the cloak of excuses and reasoning for dissention of his possible victory is the same foul stench of ethnic hatred that has persisted on these lands for over 400 years. As far as the argument on the executive experince of Obama, history, I believe weighs in his favor. I am reminded of another man, who was more or less a failure as a lawyer, who after running for the senate successfully for his first term was soundly defeated for his second term bid. However, only just approximately six months later the same man became the Republican nominee for president and was eventually elected. This man would go on to become arguably one of the greatest presidents in the history of the United States. Who was this untested, naive, neophyte...Abraham Lincoln. Incidentally, before Lincoln was ever sworn in as president he was faced with his first serious crisis..the American Civil War, the most devastating crisis in American history.

To American First, I can think for myself, therefore I'm called a Liberal Democrat. I can't believe the people in my former home voted for McCain and a women who knows NOTHING about being national/foreign issues. The people make up America, Democrats serve the people, so we are the ones putting America first. God created us with the ability to make choices, including abortion. Should women, of both parties, return to using coat hangers to abort or getting one in some sleazy back alley room? Since Roe v. Wade those women, who are going to abort anyway, have been able to do so in a sterile environment. They will have to live with their choices & God will be the Judge, not Republicans. Gay people in monogamous relationships deserve the same rights as all Americans, and one of those is to be able to marry. The Constitution doesn't have to be changed & Obama hasn't proposed changing it. The only people who want it changed are Republicans who want to deny equal rights to loyal Americans

If you have been reading your Bible you know that God allows a nation to be taken over by evil rulers for punishment when the nation gets too far away from God. Our country is not a Christian nation any more according to what Obama said on TV. All of us are more liberal and we have allowed our leaders to take away prayer in the schools, to approve same sex marriage and much more that God doesn't approve. Do we go to church or teach our children Christian principles? Our children now play organized sports on Sunday morning. Our teens are into sex, drugs, and alcohol. I don't think God is pleased with the direction our country is going. Do we ever take a stand for what is right? The pendulum has swung mighty far to the left. We have to go back to the basics and listen to our creator if we believe there is a God or else we and future generations are going to suffer now and eternally.

"The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." - John Stuart Mill (1806-1873) “There at the end of the world you are not what you were born but what you have within yourself to be.” My friends and neighbors look deep within yourself. We will still have to live after this election and yes, life will go on. You can effect a change by making changes in your life and others will notice. This is how we can make the changes needed to improve ourselves first (selfrespect) then it will spread outward. Lead by example. This means you. Don't expect someone to do it for you. Forgiveness is a GIFT, not earned or deserved. Accept it.

You won't be able to blame Carteret County. We voted country first. So, as gay marrage and abortion become constitutional rights, as God is outlawed, as your hard earned money is stolen from you, as drug abuse and crime become rampant and as this country is vanquished by domestic and international terrorist.......don't blame us we weren't suckered!

If Obama becomes president tonight, hope he knows what he's doing considering he's only been in government for a few short years. If not, I'm sure he'll learn but just at our expense. We all know he can talk a good talk. We've heard him over & over & over. With all his good friends in the middle east I'm sure we'll all be ok. God Bless us all... I'm afraid we're going to need it!

I have fasted today and prayed for our nation today. I know that God's will shall be done. I only hope that the American people will look way back to why this Great Country was founded and what has happened to it since we as a Nation have strayed away (or turned a blind eye) from our core and moral values. Look to history for statistics and your eyes will be opened. Please don't believe everything you hear and look in your heart of hearts with an educated opinion to make your decisions. This election will not fix what we have denied/ overlooked for so many years. We have to start at home with ourselves. NOT what is socially acceptable but what really matters to you. Then go out and voice your opinion locally. We must crawl before we walk. We can and will fix this nation but it must first start at home with you and let us not forget where we came from and what we can do to make it better for our children.

Please note, while the school system broke down individual schools, our results summed up the votes from ALL schools in Beaufort County.

I will be so happy to wake up to have Obama Biden be our new President and VP. God help us with more republicans if it were to go the other way. I will move to Mexico or Canada..because our country will continue in the downward spiral as it has been during the bush cheney reign.

I am curious to know why Obama is still even aloud to run for President. What about the requirement of being a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.. he has yet to provide his birth certificate to prove this and even has a law suit against him because of it... WHY is HE getting away with this?? I am praying hard for our country today.

Posted by: David Location: Grimesland on Nov 4, 2008 at 04:57 PM
I'm not an Obama fan but anything is better than another eight years of the republicans draining us dry.

Posted by: Auntie on Nov 4, 2008 at 03:54 PM
Nana, you are right. There are a lot of scared American's in this country right now, while one group of people cheer on about how "WONDERFUL" Obama is... when in all actuality - they don't know who Obama really is!

Posted by: Bushy on Nov 4, 2008 at 03:49 PM
Got to chuckle about all the McCain-ites saying they'll move out of the U.S. if Obama takes office. Turn about is fair play...how do you think we felt in 2000 and 2004. Thank god the past 8 years are almost over!

Posted by: Nana Location: Southern Pitt on Nov 4, 2008 at 03:35 PM
LOL SadbutTrue and Tony....My husband and I had a similar discussion this morning. I'm leaning towards Canada. All joking aside, we're not going anywhere. We'll stay right here in Eastern NC and do the best we can while the Obama-ites "spread the wealth". Maybe we'll get lucky and a little bit will blow our way.

Kathy you are VERY right! God Bless Fox news!!!

I am a registered Democrat but voted... for the Republican's this time around!

Posted by: Kathy Location: Washington on Nov 4, 2008 at 02:44 PM
Are you folks keeping up with the news on voter intimidation by the democrats? How about the Nation of Islam outside of traditional white polling sites? How about the traditional black polling sites giving the election board members a hard time and not allowing them inside to monitor the polling? This is only a sign of things to come. You will only see this on Fox news because all other news organization are much too liberal to print any of this. This is how an Obama presidency will act, with complete thuggery. God help us all.

Posted by: Sad but true on Nov 4, 2008 at 02:24 PM
Tony, you are right! My husband keeps saying that we are going to move to Mexico! Unfortunately, the democrats are going to prevail over the U.S. and it will end up becoming a very SICK place...

Posted by: Tony Location: GVegas on Nov 4, 2008 at 02:05 PM
My wife and I have hda a very heated debate about the election.Wether we should move to Canada or Mexico when it's over.

I think McCain is a secret terrorist that loves socialism...

Posted by: mjb Location: windsor on Nov 4, 2008 at 01:51 PM
McCain/Palin supporters haven't done anything to discredit Obama. He's done it to himself. You should have already seen it. As usual you won't believe. Have you already got the computer chips implanted so you can't think for yourself?

Posted by: Onyx Location: Greenville on Nov 4, 2008 at 12:48 PM
I'm in the Chicod district, and am supposed to vote at the Blackjack FWB Church Gym. There is no one there. Have the polling places changed in any district?

Posted by: Devil Dog Location: New Bern on Nov 4, 2008 at 12:44 PM
To Obama Snake Oil...I see where the "Lemmings" are lined up and voting for OBAMA. Thousands of military absentee ballots, in Virgina, are being contested. You'll see CHANGE...It's called MARXISM. I hope the young generation likes it. When more people are taking out of the pot of money, than those putting in, this once great nation will be sucking canal water. Maybe it's time that the "I hate America, it's all about me crowd" experiences some severe PAIN...

Tiffany what are you talking about. Obama has been negative from day one. He will not even cooperate and show his birth certificate. He is nothing but promises he can't even come close to keeping.

i WILL BE GLAD WHEN TODAY IS OVER WITH. GOD KNOWS WHATS GOOD FOR US AND GETS THE FRIST AND LAST VOTE.HE KNOWS WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN.

Welcome to the www. Our Country Deserves Better.com website. We are a national effort focused on defeating Barack Obama's presidential campaign because Obama would be a disastrous president. The Our Country Deserves Better committee is determined to tell the truth that is not being told by many in the media and among our national leaders: Barack Obama is an inexperienced, far-left, naive, "Blame America First" arrogant liberal, and that our country deserves better for our next President and Commander-in-Chief. Our Country Deserves Better than Barack Obama - and with your help we can ensure that Barack Obama is defeated on November 4th.

Hey Devil Dog, unlike Tiffany, this election will go down in history as the most corrupt one to take place in the history of the US. I caught the story about the detective and wonder why only Fox did the story. I think the liberal media is afraid of being accused of being racist as most of the posters do here on this blog site. If you vote for anybody but Obama, you are racist. Well, I voted for country as race is only part of the ticket. I also know many democrats voting republican this year since they don't want a socialist running the county with a "very hidden" agenda. You would think that people would be more intelligent than that, however, sheep stay in flocks. I will still be here when all this is over to remind the bloggers that "I told you so". When their tax bills show up they will be in for a new awakening, it will really cost them some money. If you don't believe it, you should have read his book. See ya comrads!

I think that Obama has run a good campaign and it has been very ethical. However, I can not say the same for his opponent. Insenuations about McCain's signs being stolen are not to be taken seriously. After all, McCain and his supporters have tried everything in the book to discredit Obama, I guess this blog is their final attempt! Pathetic, I say!!

Posted by: Devil Dog Location: New Bern on Nov 4, 2008 at 08:15 AM
I see where 55,000 people registered and voted early in Wisconsin. They came from neighboring States. The lead Detective, who discovered this, was told to sit in his office and keep quiet. He just resigned/retired from his post. I'm sure someone will point this out after the election. It sure won't be the LIBERAL news media. GOODBYE AMERICA.....

Posted by: pirate Location: greenville on Nov 4, 2008 at 07:56 AM
why is it that when I voted the other day, the only McCain sign at the voting place was covered up by 5 Obama signs... I should have brought all 7 of my signs and covered up the Obama signs, but then again, we are better than that and won't stoop to the left wing level...

Posted by: Me on Nov 4, 2008 at 07:19 AM
Wonder who stole all of the McCain signs down G'ville Blvd last night and replaced them (in the same spots) with Obama signs? Is the Obama campaign THAT sorry??? Oh yeah... they are! That's just sad! REALLY, REALLY sad!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: To Alfred on Nov 4, 2008 at 07:17 AM
Alfred: McCain has addressed this. He wants to get illegal immigrants out of the U.S. and send them home. Obama on the other hand wants to give them welfare and health care. I am serious... look it up on the web!!! VERY sad, but true!

Posted by: Connie Location: Washington on Nov 4, 2008 at 06:51 AM
I agree with Jim and the other voters/viewers whatever will be will be. Be sure to cast your vote and hope and pray for the best. And enjoy the normality after today.

Posted by: Alfred J. Cedeno Location: 330 Chebistal Dr. Grifton on Nov 4, 2008 at 06:16 AM
I am disapppointed with both presidential candidates because neither candidate discussed illegal immigration. There were 3 presidential debates and no questions on the subject. We have a President building a wall to keep people out of the USA and these 2 presidential hopefuls did not discuss the issue. They are both reading from written scripts, like a play and are not tell us how they feel on this issue. Illegal immigration must not be happening any more, since no one is talking about it!

Posted by: voter Location: Greenville on Nov 4, 2008 at 06:04 AM
I have to agree with Jim Howard. I will be glad when today is over because I am tired of all the phone calls and junk mail.
