State and local officials apparently had a good time at the recent tall ships event along the Crystal Coast, partying on a state ferry, partly at your expense. About 200 local and state officials apparently went on a cruise aboard a state owned ferry. The fuel for the ferry is estimated to cost taxpayers about $2,800, the band cost about $1,200 and the beer and wine was paid for by economic development groups. Now, State Representative Pricey Harrison, a Democrat from Greensboro, says the cruise doesn't seem appropriate. She's recommending more stringent rules for gifts and ethics for members of the state legislature.
