Old Helicopters New Again

Some of the warhorses of the Marine Corps are coming out of retirement.

A handful of Super Stallion helicopters have been recalled to active duty after a decade in retirement. The C-H 53-E Super Stallion heavy lift copters will be back on line with the Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464 at New River Air Station.

Accidents, aging and the demands of war in Iraq and Afghanistan have led the Marines to use them again.
