A Craven County woman has until Monday to properly nourish the 29 remaining horses on her Vanceboro farm. That's when the
U.S. Equine Rescue League and animal control will check on the animals. Twelve other horses belonging to Judy Nichols have already been removed. Rescuers discovered the horses last week, some in bad physical shape, with little grass to eat and in some cases no water. No charges have been filed.
