The Heat Is on and so Is the Effort to Stay Cool!

Highs across Eastern Carolina crept up into the 90s Wednesday afternoon and that caused folks who work outside, like roofers, to reach for something cool to drink and get an earlier start on the day. When the mercury rises, folks in the air conditioning business say service calls double, sometimes triple in number compared to a regular day. Walt Pollard, owner of Pollard and Sons Heating and Air Conditioning in Washington, says maintenance done yourself on air conditioning units before it heats up can save you headaches in the future. Pollard says he and his crew can get up to fifteen service calls each on a busy Summer day.
