The third day of witness testimony has wrapped up in the third double murder trial against a Pamlico County man.
Vaughn Jones is accused of killing Richard and Rosa Flowers in January of 2003.
Assistant district attorney Anne Kirby spent most of the day trying to show that Jones had a motive to kill the Flowers. He worked for them and regularly borrowed money from them. The state says Richard Flowers cut him off from personal loans in November of 2002.
The defense questioned a witnesses credibility, a convicted felon Jones had hung out with that evening. The defense also continued to talk about what it calls sloppy police work by the Pamlico County sheriff's office.
Jurors are scheduled to take a field trip to the scene Thursday.

He is innocent! The police has been knowing since the first trial. They have a partial print of another person and because of their pride! They haven't tried to match it to someone else!Even with the dna mixture it said it could be Richard Flowers, Vaughn Jones or two unkown suspects. It has never said it was his.The District Attorney's need to let the public see the real lab reports and what they say. I have, and the people would be in amazement at what they will read.Being that Agent Bissett has falsfied dna results in five other cases. They do have evidence of someone else, they just need to use it and find out the truth. Starting with everyone! Both families are suffering. The police needs to start over and make sure. The Flowers and Vaughn are good people and only the real truth will set things free.I ask that everyone pray for the truth for both famlies sake no matter who it was. But that the right justice be served right and not because of pride.

Ok TG here you go. If you would read the papers and all you would see that his blood fingerprints and all was NOT found in the house. The weapon used had no hand guards so his hands would have gotten cut. The car he was in that night had no blood in it, so how can you send someone to prison with nothing on them. All the evidence says it all.

Chris you yourself must not be keeping a close eye on this story either. Jones' blood fingerprints or nothing else has been found in the house so why is he there. If he done this wouldn't he have been covered in blood himself, his hands been cut from a knife with no guards. Come on here read before you type. Read the papers and all the articles they tell all. I can't say he was there or not but by reading it looks he wasn't.
