Why not legalize cocaine and pot? Then tax the hell out of it, just as you do cigs and beer? Just think of the revenue the world would see, they'd be enough to bail out AIG 100 more times.

As usual, a lot of comments from the RECLINER POLICE and ARMCHAIR DEPUTIES. It must be tough to schedule posting comments during breaks in your soap operas. What a joke. LOL

Anonymous and Citizen M!I completely agree with both of you! I myself have driven down Market Street and seen way to many drug deals right on the corner of 7th and Market.Broad Daylight! Wonder if Wash PD will start steping up their patrols or heck...start making busts since this is drawing a little more attention!

The streets are public property. The only law against them "hanging out" in the streets is if they impede the flow of traffic. Some towns have a "gathering" ordinance when more than a certain amout gather together they are required to obtain a permit.

Are our Police intimidated by the vagrants on 7th,8th, and 9th blocks that intersect Market. Is there a City ordinance for people hanging out in the street?

I was coming from King Chicken tonight and at the corner of 7th and market while I was at the stopsign, I saw a drug deal going down. That area seems to have way too much activity going on.

If they would just go door to door on Pamlico Street in Belhaven I bet they would come up with pounds not just ounces. They really need to step it up !
