Two fireman ,Billy Harold Williams and Brandon Whimple, were volunteers with Rhodestown Volunteer Fire Department. They lost their lives in the line of duty last March.

Tonight, they are among other firefighters across the country who will be remembered for their sacrifice and service.

Dozens of firefighters walked down 5th Street in Greenville to the main fire station on Greene street.

This weekend fire stations across the country have lowered their flags to half staff in accordance with the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation.

Every year on the weekend following fire prevention week, they hold a silent march to honor those fireman and kick off fire prevention week.

Greenville rescue workers are getting ready to take part in the touching remembrance.
