It’s an incredible story of survival out of Jones County. A pilot who never came home from an evening flight Sunday night was found alive.
Authorities say 52-year-old Bill Hood took his ultralight plane out Sunday night and crashed. A full scale search was conducted into the morning Monday.
The North Carolina Forestry Service helicopter was called in along with several other fire stations. They finally located him near the Craven-Jones County line shortly after 10:00 a.m.
At last word, Hood was in good condition.
