NEW INFO: 3-year-old Among Those Shot In Smithfield

There's been an arrest made in connection with a shooting that injured two adults and a three year old boy Thursday.

Smithfield police have charged Shanquan Padgett with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Police say the Smithfield man was stopped leaving the home with a gun.

Police say the shooting happened just after 1:30 p.m. Thursday. A 24-year-old man was also hurt, but officers say they think the child and his mother were innocent bystanders.

The names of the people who were shot haven't been released, but officials say their injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening.

No one has been charged yet with the actual shooting of the three people.
