Driver Charged With DWI In Overnight Wreck At Greenville Intersection

Police have charged with driver of a car that just left a Greenville restaurant with drunk driving after an accident overnight.

Robert Erwin, Jr. of Farmville told officers he had just left the Carolina Ale House and thought he ran the red light at Greenville Boulevard and Arlington Boulevard.

Erwin's vehicle struck two other cars at the intersection. All three drivers people where sent to Vidant Medical Center and they were treated and released.

We're gathering details after multiple Greenville police cars swarmed the intersection of Greenville Boulevard and Arlington in Greenville just after 1 a.m. this morning.

We know three vehicles were involved in a wreck at the typically busy intersection. No word yet on injuries or the cause of the crash.

Traffic was rerouted around the intersection for a short time as crews worked to clear up the wreck.
