Law Enforcement Agencies Get Help Through Funding

Counties and departments around the state are getting a piece of the $22 million dollar pie thanks to the Governor’s Crime Commission.

The money will provide assistance for a range of programs including efforts to fight juvenile delinquency, assist victims of domestic violence, provide modern equipment and technology for local law enforcement agencies, stop gang activity and fight drug abuse.

So how will the money be broken up? Below is a list of several Eastern Carolina counties and how much of the funding they will receive:

Dare: $61,349.45
Edgecombe: $106.750.00
Lenoir: $150,000.00
Onslow: $25,487.15
Pitt: $388,496.10
Tyrrell: $9,240.00
Washington: $31.496.47
Wayne: $74,235.85
