There are still some isolated problems with gas supplies in parts of North and South Carolina. But a spokeswoman for AAA-Carolinas says the good news is that gas prices are slowly coming down.
Carol Gifford says shortages remain throughout both states, in particular in Asheville and Charlotte in North Carolina and Columbia, South Carolina.
She says oil refineries are still working at reduced levels after the recent hurricanes.
Gifford says the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded in South Carolina is now $3.87. The average in North Carolina is $3.93, down two cents from Sunday's level
Gifford says on the national level, gas prices have fallen five days in a row.

I guess the bail out is supposed to stop things from getting worse for all of us. I hope that there are some strong rules about it. They certainly should do something about the CEOs and their salaries. They should really make them step down. It would be good if they could put some control on the spectulators who buy oil futures just to make more money. They just care about themselves, not the country. Shouldn't be allowed. You're right. Drive to work, grocery store and church. No more side trips or shopping trips. Heck, could afford to go shopping for clothes, shoes, etc. anyway. Guess I'll keep wearing my glad rags for a while longer.

Let the gas prices get lower, raise the price of lotto tickets and things of that nature in the stores. Be done with it.

goldsboro gas on the way to snow hill has been cheaper...we are getting ripped off in the whole state. the taxes need to be lowered, and all gas prices need to be reduced. we are only using transportation to get to work and back and to carpool at school, and to go to church and the store 1 time a week. we are still having a very hard time making ends meet. now we find out our federal taxes are now going to go toward a bailout to help bush and wall street get out of hell. what else can we do? we should not have to pay any tax if we are being ripped off by our government.
