Keeping domestic violence victims safe; that's the goal of a new service being offered in Pitt County. The county will be the fourth in the country to offer Vine Protective Order Notification Services to victims with court protective orders. When a person petitions the court for a protective order, she or he will be able to register for the service. At that point, the petitioner will be automatically notified, by phone or email, when the abuser is served with the order, of upcoming court dates, and of the order's expiration date.
