A high speed chase, a car submerged in frigid water in a creek, and a man near death. That was the scene Gates County Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Warren faced last year in late December. And on that night, Trooper Warren put his life on the line to save that man. Wednesday, Trooper Warren was awarded the Crime Control and Public Safety Commendation Award, the Secretary's Gold Circle Award, and the State Highway Patrol Purple Heart Award. Trooper Warren is trained in swift water rescue, which helped him save that man's life.
