Pro Football Player & Greenville Native Returns Home to Give Back to Community

A Greenville native who played pro football has returned to his hometown to teach kids about the game of football and the game of life.

You might recognize Troy Smith from his days playing wide-receiver at ECU. He went pro with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, he's running the South Greenville Rec Center through Greenville Parks and Rec and has also started a non-profit group called Future Inc. Along with fellow ECU teammate Kevin Monroe, the two raise money to help needy kids in the area. While they think sports can teach kids a lot about life, they stress education.

In addition to coaching the free football league through Parks and Rec, Troy also coaches a basketball league.
