A North Carolina man who became the first person in the country to be convicted of a felony for sending unsolicited bulk e-mail, or spam, has had his conviction overturned.
Jeremy Jayne's conviction was overturned after the Virginia Supreme Court declared the states anti-spam law unconstitutional.
The court agreed with the Raleigh man's claim that the anti-spam law violates free speech protections under the first amendment.
