Police at East Carolina University say the freshman student charged with starting the fire at Clement Hall in March did so because she wasn't getting along with her roommate. Police say 18-year-old Latasha Ann Isler of Grifton is now charged with first degree arson. Police say Isler tried to burn her roommate’s belongings, because the two had not been getting along. If convicted of first degree arson, Isler faces between nine to fourteen years in prison.
