Immigration Process: Many Say It Needs to Be Streamlined

President Bush's address on immigration reform Monday night has sparked debate around the country and here in Eastern Carolina. We spoke to Maria Gachuz, a Washington woman, who just obtained citizenship in the U.S. last year. Gachuz says even with a work visa it took her about 10 years to become a legal citizen. Gachuz feels the immigration process needs to be streamlined, something President Bush did not address in his speech Tuesday night. She opposes Bush's plan to put National Guard troops on the Mexican border. Bush's proposal calls for 6000 National Guard troops.
