On and off quick downpours will be possible through Sunday afternoon. Heavier rain could bring another 1 to 3 inches of rain to a few locations late Sunday and into Monday afternoon.
More severe weather moved through Eastern Carolina Monday afternoon and evening. Many areas were under a tornado warning. The storms produced heavy rain, hail and flash flooding in some areas. Storms on Sunday also caused damage. Estimated winds of 90 miles-per-hour in Columbia, Tyrrell County uprooted trees, blew out windows and ripped siding off homes across a three mile area. In Farmville, Pitt County, strong thunderstorms Sunday did some damage along Highway 121 North. Crews were out Monday cleaning up after a tree fell on top of a residence.
