In search of the American dream; that's why many people want to come to this country. Some of them do it illegally by crossing over the Mexican U.S. border.
But Alberto Vargas, a U.S. citizen born here and living in Eastern Carolina, says he wants his sons to come here from Mexico legally. But he's discovered it's a lot easier said than done.
Vargas says he has been working for almost a decade to bring them here with no luck. Vargas says he has not heard anything from government offices or politicians from his phone calls and letters over the years.
Those who work with the Latino community say what Vargas is experiencing what many deal with as they seek a better life here in the United States.
