Across the nation and right here at home food banks are facing empty shelves as people facing hard financial times are donating less.
The Greenville branch of the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina says the food inventory is very low and they're concerned.
Workers say they think the low stock is due to a higher demand for food in the area because of people losing their jobs and that people are donating less.
The Greenville Food Bank says it needs non-perishable goods such as canned soups and stews, peanut butter, tuna, and pasta. Pop top cans are preferred, and they ask that you not donate foods in glass containers.
