North Carolina Teacher Arrested A Second Time For Affair With Student Save Email Print

A former North Carolina middle school teacher accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student has been arrested again after police found her with the same boy.

Jeannie Michelle Hodges resigned as a language arts teacher from
Hobbton Middle School just before she was charged in July with
statutory rape and accused of having an affair with a former student.

Released on bond, the 40-year-old Autryville woman was ordered to stay away from the boy.

The Associated Press reports that Hodges was arrested Aug. 30 after authorities stopped her car at a checkpoint. The teen was driving, and Hodges was in the passenger seat.

Hodges was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a
minor and allowing an unlicensed driver to drive. She was released
on bond, but prosecutors say her initial bond could now be revoked.

Maybe she has friends in 'high places.'

I cannot believe this woman got out on bond! What makes her any different from a pedophile who gets remanded with no bond? There isn't one...Man or woman...she's still a pedophile.

That's our North Carolina court system for ya! Look at all the criminals around here that are walking the streets. Take a look at the Suday paper's Superior Court blotter, hardened criminals getting suspended sentences and put on probation which puts them right back on the street. I sure can't figure it out.

A 15-year-old may 'know' what they are doing, but they do not realize how their actions will affect others or the rest of their life. This 'woman' is SICK. An adult is supposed to be mature and know better.

Anonymous, I do agree with him understanding what he is doing, but, she being the "adult" should know not to touch a teenage boy. Furthermore, if it were a male teacher and a teen girl he would have never made bail and if he did make bail he probably wouldn't live for court after the dad found out. Double-standard, oh yes.

According to WRAL the boy has been placed in custody with his older sister. This woman is so stupid. She is acting like it is no big deal. She should be in jail with no bond. She was suppose to have no contact with this boy.Maybe the judge will give her a good stiff sentence.Just glad she is not related to me.Yall know what I mean?

To Anonymous: I see what your saying that 15 yr olds know what they are doing but as an adult SHE knew not to mess with a little boy. So, whether he knew it was wrong or not SHE is the adult. PUT HER SICKO DESPERATE TAIL IN JAIL!

I agree, there is definitely a double standard. Is it just me, or does there seem to be more and more of this 'female teacher-male student'news every year? I mean, what happened to the days when the teachers were way too old to even entertain the idea? What do these women possibly have in common with these children?

Posted by: Anonymous Location: columbia on Sep 5, 2008 at 09:44 AM
I say leave her alone. The guy surely knew what he was doing. I remember being 15 and I have no regrets over what I did. There is a difference between rape and mutual consent regardless of age.

I agree that if this were a man he would be in jail. As the mother of a son, I would want the same punishment for this crime as the mother of a daughter would. We need to push for harsher sentences when the VICTIM is a boy. I'm still appalled by how these crimes are made to seem unimportant.

Maybe this time they will put a known child molester in jail..... If NC had tougher laws maybe abused children would not grow up to be so damaged.

Double Standards, if that teacher was a man he would have been thrown in jail already. These type of double standards aren't fair at all.

SICK! I hope they put the hardest punishment on her. We need to stop these desperate sickos.
