Outside Outlets Source Of Several Fires Along Outer Banks

Wind driven salt water is getting into outside outlets causing fires. There have been half a dozen such fires in Nags Head in the past year. If you live along the coast, it’s recommended you have your outside outlets professionally inspected. Fire officials say always pull down the metal flaps to cover the outlets. Putting in plastic plugs likely won't be enough if the seals are going bad.
