It’s been nearly nine months since Hurricane Ophelia slammed into the Crystal Coast and destroyed Cornelia Murray's home. Since then, volunteers with the Interfaith Disaster Response Council of Carteret County have been working to renovate Murray's home. The home has sentimental value because her father built it, but may need to be demolished because the damage was so severe.
Right now, volunteers are looking into getting grants to build a new home, as well as finding corporate sponsors who could possibly help with the demolition of the home.
