North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr is off to Minnesota to help prepare the Republican party's platform.

Burr is co-chairman of the GOP's Platform Committee. It meets
every four years to adopt a platform that outlines the principles
and policies of the party. California Rep. Kevin McCarthy chairs
the committee this year.

The Platform Committee will meet this week to prepare the
platform that it will present at the Republican National Convention
next week. The committee is composed of 112 delegates.

Burr's office said the senator will be in Minnesota on Monday to
start on the process.

The Democrats are prepared to adopt a similar document that
commits the party to the principle of guaranteed health care for
all.
